Its not so much a smart move as a necessary one. Reading between the lines, I have to believe that the company is once again going to try marketing its own devices directly to consumers and we know how they've done in the past taking this approach. Even if they could dump all the new shares at the current price, they would only have 13 or 14 mil to work with. Apple spends more than that on a months worth of advertising.
I have tried to decipher the state of wencors relationship with edig by the webcast and transcripts and it appears neutral to possibly negative. I say this because some of managements comments regarding their ability to market the device on their own seemed to be aimed squarely at wencor for whatever reason. I dont believe that wencor is squeezing them as far as pricing goes, yet, but I dont believe that wencor has been showering them with accolades either. Imo their "changing focus" is a result of yet another failed business plan and this companies future, beyond the recent shares, is hanging by a thread. I say give 'em bigger raises. lol. Real ceos of real companies get booted for non performance. Note the "real". This however is merely a shell with some engineering expertise that is searching for some market they can be successful in. They ought to be buying powerball tickets. Imo they stand a better chance there. And what about Falk alledgedly telling someone that the megaviewer, vegeviewer, medaviewer or whatever it is has been trialed in a hospital? Putnam blows that one to hell the same day. Who was lying? While its a nice thought, I cant see how atul expects to realize revenue from a device that isnt even finished yet. They must expect that the majority of large shareholders are whiteheads, with huge, dark green wrap around sun glasses, and only have a few years left anyway who are so stubborn and egotistical that they will blame any failure on naked shorting, apple, etc rather than accepting they made a poor investment choice. I can see them in the parking lot measuring their 40 yard dash times to make sure they can outrun an angry power chair pilot.
