Erie Indemnity Company (Indemnity) manages attorney-in-fact for the subscribers (policyholders) of the Erie Insurance Exchange (Exchange). Indemnity’s function is to perform services for the Exchange relating to the sales, underwriting and issuance of policies on behalf of the Exchange. Indemnity operates as a property and casualty insurer through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Erie Insurance Company (EIC), Erie Insurance Company of New York (ENY) and Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company (EPC). For the year ended December 31, 2010, Indemnity sold its wholly owned property and casualty subsidiaries to the Exchange. The Company operates in four segments, including management operations; property and casualty insurance operations; life insurance operations, investment operations.
