The "misery index" was very close to its peak when Reagan took office so to say the bottom was years earlier is a gross exaggeration. Lots of folks with recent memory syndrome should take a look at Wikipedia's presidential rankings page and then look at why there are many presidents which score lower than GWB. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_rankings [i don't particularly agree with Grant getting such a bum rap]
