There is an easy way of knowing for sure.

If the transaction occurred at the bid price it is a sell. The type of transaction is of no matter. BUY/SELL calls are determined only by the bid and ask.

Shares bought at the bid price are classified as sells, and shares bought on the ask price are classified as buys.

For every transaction their is a buyer and a seller, but the classification of buy/sell are determine by who, the buyer, or the seller, decides to initiate the transaction. IE the buyer decides to agree to the sellers price and buys on ask = BUY.

The only reason people watch the buy/sell ratio is an attempt to gauge the "feel" of the market. SRSR feel is negative at this stage because the sells out weight the buys. Or in other words. The bears have the ball. Maybe when Scott returns for the east the bulls will take charge.

GTC or not, at bid = sell.
