Longinvest: Oklahoma/Kansas may be easier, but let me tell you about my experience with very reputable a wildcat driller I partnered with for 1 of 3 gas wells in the hill country of West Virginia.
1. Nearly a month to cut trees, grade, and put a road it to the site. 2. Two more weeks to get the drilling pads ready. 3. Then winter rains and snow made it impossible to get the drill rig on site for nearly another month. 4. Three weeks to drill each well once the rig was set up. 5. After each well was drilled it took another 2 weeks for logging and "stimulation" = minimal fracking.
6. The one well of the 3 that I was partnered in had 595PSI at the wellhead which is supposed to be be pretty good. 7. But wait, now that the well looks good, a pipeline has to run to it, which in my case was slightly more than a mile long. This took about another 2 months due to bad weather an uncooperative landowners who would not sell easements along the shortest route to collector pipeline. 8. Finally after the pipeline was connected, we had to wait for the gas company to install and calibrate the meter which would count the cu ft of gas coming from the well. This took another 6 weeks.
P.S. Since there is some oil produced from the well, they also had to set up the equipement for separating the crude from the gas and put in a storage tank to collect it. This delayed final production by about another 3 weeks.
I hope the process is a lot less cumbersome in the Mississippi Lime than in the hill country of West Virginia. Good luck to us all.
