From the flowid website. For those who are worried about scale up they obviously do not think it a problem..

1.their reactors can be engineered to produce 1000 tonnes/year as long as all parameters of flow chemistry can be maintained
2.by stacking glass channel mixers they can achieve parallelisation to scale up even further

Both statements show size and depth future capabilities. This truly is disruptive technology.

I am guessing that the 33 grams per week as of June 30th is for a prototype machine, not a production machine.Based on this prototype they can theoretically work out the scale up based on the results they get from this reactor. The article below states that they do feasibility studies always. It is my opinion that QMC will not fully disclose all their secrets,to do so would mean a loss of competitive advantage.QMC has also stated in a past PR that they control the rights to improvements in the process.

From the last paragraphs :

Reactor dimensions can be increased
up to a certain limit as long as heat and
mass transfer properties are kept at an
acceptable level preserving the benefits
of a micro flow reactor. Reactors engineered
in this way by Flowid can reach
maximum capacities of 1,000
tonnes/year.
The parallelisation of micro flow reactions
(so called scale-out) can also be
used for scaling up production even
further
. Flowid can, before starting an
engineering project for micro flow reactors,
provide an overview of the economic
advantages of this technology as
compared to traditional batch production.
Significant reduction of production
costs appears to be within reach.
Chemical feasibility studies are also
offered before starting any engineering
project
. It should be added here
that the flexible usability of micro flow
reactors make them particularly attractive
for the production of speciality
chemicals.
The advantages of micro flow reactor
plants are nowadays commonly recognised
in the chemicals industry. The
production of chemicals in micro flow
plants is not only proven to be profitable
and save. Its industrial application
is now increasing as production equipment
has left its childhood.
