on finras site looks like they sold some air shares and a lot the previous day

There are no such things as air shares. There are no appreciable short positions and no naked shortman on cgfia either.
The volume is the insiders constantly unloading into the open market.
35 billion goes a long way.....don't forget, some promoters may be still trying to get rid of their share payment from last year or two....
