I'm a little confused about that issue.. weren't those shares issued to BD around a penny? and if so, the forward share price and whatever BD sold them for would have no bearing on existing debt owed to them..

now if ATRN held those 14 million shares, sold them today then took the proceeds to pay off BD I could understand the logic but that's not the way this went down, unless I missed something??
