Kind of cool,

Imagine a bay surrounded by palm trees. A group of animals that look like 4 foot long salamanders crawl out of the water to sun on the shoreline. They are snapping at each other but it just seems like display. They do not really bite each other.

I was able to walk up and bang one on the head.

I gutted it and it had pretty normal organs inside. The flesh was pretty stinky and mushy though. It did not seem edible.

The whole scene seemed prehistoric and I could not determine whether the water was salt or fresh.
