bbotcs....SCKT...new video released today. Now that they have inventory problems under control, they are starting to push the Somo computer as a replacement for the now discontinued HP iPaq. That used to be a $100M/year product just 2 years ago. Not all industries can use the iPhone/iPad. You need more secure, rugged PDAs that IT people can integrate into their computer operations. Windows based are still the choice. (Most of the choices are very rugged $1000 units).



When the Somo 655 comes out, the 650 unit will be phased out. It still will give Socket a price advantage over most of the competitors.

The battle in the future will become which side of Socket's business grows faster, the scanner side (especially with the partners they are forming with the 7xi and iPad) or the Somo unit side (with new partners, new deployments, new 655 in the near future, and the HP iPaq replacement market building).
