You said "I am sorry, but I am confused...why do people keep posting as if NYC is the entire world/our only market?"

It is an attempt to make JBI look bad by using the argument of guilt by association.

It goes like this.

NY city is considering a ban on crude oil #6 fuel because it creates pollution when burned.

Crude oil #6 fuel contains heavy metals, aromatic hydrocarbons, water and dirt that contribute to this pollution.

JBI produces a fuel that is classified as #6 because it meets the flash point criteria for #6 fuel oil.

Therefore JBI's plastic derived #6 fuel oil is the same as the stuff NY City is considering banning.

That line of logic ignores the facts that JBI's plastic derived #6 fuel oil does not contain heavy metals, aromatic hydrocarbons, dirt and water.

For that line of logic to work, you must assume that all fuels classified as #6 fuel oil are the same. That is an unstated assumption, but it is the foundation of that argument.

Of course, JBI's plastic derived fuels, are not the same. They don't start with crude oil which has all sorts of nasties in it.

JBI's fuels start with plastics, which are made from refined and purified crude oil products to begin with with.

The end result is that JBI's plastic derived fuels are better. Better ingredients means better fuels.

NY City is one city in one state, but it has high visibility.

Also that argument ignores the part where the proposed ban allows fuels of pollution equivalent of the higher quality fuels that will be required.

JBI's #6 should easily meet that requirement. In fairness, specific testing will have to be done to demonstrate that to be true. All of this lies several years in the future, if the proposal do,in fact, become regulations.
