Financial Engines, Inc. The Company assists investors plan for retirement by offering plans for saving and investing, as well as by providing assessments of retirement income needs. The Company derives its revenue from Financial Engines Advisors L.L.C.’s investment advisory and management services, through its contracts with plan providers, plan sponsors and plan participants. Financial Engines derives its platform revenue from recurring, annual subscription-based fees for access to its services, including Professional Management, Online Advice and Retirement Evaluation. On January 31, 2011, the Company announced the launch of Financial Engines Income+, a feature of its Professional Management service that provides retirement income for 401(k) participants.
