Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. is engaged in providing a make your own stuffed animal interactive entertainment under the Build-A-Bear Workshop brand, in which the guests stuff, fluff, dress, accessorize and name their own teddy bears and other stuffed animals. The Company operates in three segments: retail, international franchising, and commercial. The retail segment includes the operating activities of Company-owned stores in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and other retail delivery operations, including the Company’s Web store, pop-up stores and non-traditional store locations such as baseball ballparks. The international franchising segment includes the licensing activities of the Company’s franchise agreements with store locations in Europe, outside of France, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. The commercial segment has been established to market the naming and branding rights of the Company’s intellectual properties for third-party use.
