DCT Industrial Trust Inc. (DCT) is a real estate investment trust (REIT). It is an industrial real estate company that owns, operates and develops bulk distribution and light industrial properties in distribution markets in the United States and Mexico. Its business is conducted through a majority owned subsidiary, DCT Industrial Operating Partnership LP. During the year ended December 31, 2010, DCT acquired five bulk industrial buildings consisting of 0.8 million square feet, five light industrial buildings comprising 0.2 million square feet, and ownership interests in two bulk industrial properties totaling 0.5 million square feet, which are consolidated in its financial statements. The Company also acquired 19.3 acres of land held for development through a newly formed consolidated joint venture. During 2010, the Company sold eight operating properties totaling approximately 0.5 million square feet to third-parties.
