Take all of the following DD that I've spent the last 3 hours compiling and do with what you wish...There may, or may not be links in some of the implications here. I'll let you decide for yourself. I've spent the better part of tonight digging further and I came across some interesting things...most that haven't been discussed thus far. ENJOY!!!

Kenshoo saw the Atrinsic white paper newsworthy enough to post on their website

12-7-11 6:00 AM EST | E-mail Article LEWEB 2011 — At the LeWeb 2011 conference in Paris, X.commerce today announced that several new partners have joined its global partner ecosystem which includes commerce leaders eBay, PayPal and Magento. In addition, more than 500 companies and individuals have pledged their support for the ecosystem by taking The X.commerce Pledge, which recognizes early contributors to the ecosystem…
Kenshoo just happened to be one of those companies that joined its global parter ecosystem
…Kenshoo helps merchants of all sizes increase sales by creating automated digital marketing campaigns on search engines and social networks to generate demand for their products and services…

X.commerce is an Ebay company and as you know, Mark Dyne had dealings with them in a familiar deal:
Dyne was a member of the original board of Skype together with Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom until it was sold to eBay for over $2.6 billion, and subsequently led the negotiations for Joltid to become a major shareholder of Skype in its acquisition from eBay in November 2009 and joined the Board of Directors. Skype was sold to Microsoft in 2011 for $8.5 Billion. Dyne was listed as one of the "winners" [4]
He is a member of the Board of Directors of Synthean, and is Chairman of Tag-It Pacific, Inc. MCV in January 2000 called him "The Deal Maker" and published his Ten Rules of Negotiating.

I also found this one below, that technically applies if we are talking establishment of a new company but the first two I believe are what David Rifkin was referring to.

Notice, that David Rifkin is the VP of search at Atrinsic…Wonder what kind of event he wasn’t invited to???
I may be grasping at straws, but this may be bigger than even I could have imagined…If indeed Atrinsic has a “new and improved tool”, that apparently everyone wants, then why wouldn’t EBAY want it??? And, they can afford it!!! Just pure speculation on my part…you’ll have to dig into the many URLs that I’ve posted here and form your own conclusions. My eyes are tired so I’m going to stop for now. Hopefully someone will find some significance here…if not, it’s still entertaining reading and interesting how all of these companies are inter-twined into one giant web!!! SPYDER!!!
