To ALL who doubt NVEI's disruptive technology!

A lot of posters doubted the feasability of NVEI's cu@ocx.
If you look to the following link to a Swiss company with the name "ASCOM", an european supplier of telecomm equipment, you see a disruptive technology. ASCOM has proved already that its last mile solution works. They have
made all fieldtests. NVEI likes to enter the appartments through existing phone lines, while ASCOM are using the
power lines (main power outlets) and it works!!!
They projected revenues for the next 12 months of 6 billion
US$ just selling the line end modems and the per house needed main server.(1 main server per house gives you the capability to connect you on each power outlet you have; just plug the modem between the outlet and your PC!
ASCOM showed this at the CEBIT fare in Hanover (Germany), the worlds largest telcom fare!
IMHO when ASCOMS technology works through power lines, it
is very likely, that CU@ocx is working much easier, because of really less insulation and interference problems!
Why you don't go to read ASCOM's news? Link is below and it's in English:::and it's worth to be read.

High-speed surfing via Powerline

Top performances at the world ski championships and with high-speed surfing via Powerline
Faster, higher, further, better: When the worlds' elite Alpine skiers meet on 10 February 2001 in Arlberg in the Austrian mountains to strive for new records, a similar event will be taking place off piste – in the form of a service that as far as quality and speed are concerned is equally exciting and truly convincing. We are referring to the Ascom Powerline high-speed surfing stations.

Whether in the hotel, the press centre or in the sports shop: The Ascom information terminals can be used by anyone to send a greetings card, free of charge, to any destination in the world and also to carry out an online check on the ski races. What at first sight appears to be a standard terminal that today can be found at many large events, is in fact the implementation of the very latest transmission technology. Communication via the standard mains power supply socket!

Ascom Powerline Communications AG in Berne, Switzerland has based its development on a simple ingenious thought and uses the existing low-voltage power supply grid, which worldwide offers nearly 95%
coverage, for the transmission of voice, data and services.

As obvious as the next power supply socket.
Shortly to be exhibited at CeBIT 2001, the latest market-matured generation of equipment offers high-speed Internet surfing with a net transmission rate of 3 Mbit/s; future developments will permit net rates of up to 20 Mbit/s. The digital transmission technology and the use of specially designed high-performance chips ensure interference-free transmission – a plus that also plays a role in St Anton. Even in the extremely densely populated high-tech environment of the ORF press centre, the Ascom Powerline technology functions impeccably and causes no interference even with the most highly sensitive equipment in its immediate vicinity.

Simply from socket to socket, to the end customer. Plug in, data out. Because Powerline turns the electricity supply grid into a data network and offers "permanent" access without first having to dial up a connection. And that it really is as simple as it sounds was also proven in Arlberg: Direct and with no additional cabling effort, or what at worst could have required ditches to be dug, Powerline was up and running and online in no time at all – for example, for a chat with Hilde Gerg organised by Eurosport. At this point we will refrain from mentioning the almost permanent usage of the Powerline technique by the German National Ski Team, after all we do not want to influence the competitive fairness....

And since strong partners are just as important for the introduction of new technologies as for sporting competitions, an Austrian Power(line) Team was formed to provide the necessary support. This included support from United Telekom Austria UTA, the Tyrolean

Raiffeisen banks and the Tourist Department of the Province of Tyrol, as well as from the electricity supply
utility TIWAG, which rapidly and flexibly made the existing electricity supply network available for use with the innovative Powerline technology. The Powerline technology was thus able to prove its abilities in a highly communicative environment under extreme conditions. After all, top performance is what really counts at a world ski championship.
