Vivid Entertainment Licenses Advanced ''Leapscan''-TM- Technology from Xobile That Lets Cell Phone Users Preview Adult Films in Stores
LOS ANGELES, CA, (NAMC) - Vivid Entertainment Group, the world's leading adult film company, has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Xobile, a subsidiary of Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network (AEBN), for advanced Leapscan(TM) technology that will enable cellphone users to preview films while they shop in adult video stores.

The system utilizes proprietary Leapscan barcode scanning technology that allows cell phone users to stream videos such as trailers of videos onto camera-equipped mobile devices as they hold them in their hands.

"This is a great technology," said Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid. "All consumers need to do is point their camera phone at the barcode of our DVD box. The Leapscan software in the cellphone interprets the barcode, accesses the Web browser on the phone, then either downloads or streams a video trailer from a Xobile server to the customer's wireless device. It takes a matter of seconds and the viewers will be able to tell immediately if they want to purchase a specific video. This is such an exciting time for technology and as usual the adult sector is leading the way in creating new products and services that will invariably be in common use in a few years." Mr. Hirsch added, noting that age verification would not be an issue since there won't be any nudity involved.

"Leapscan is the most advanced use in the U.S. of two-dimensional barcode technology," according to Harvey Kaplan, CEO of Xobile, a Charlotte, NC subsidiary of AEBN, the global leader in adult video on demand distribution. "The software can be downloaded by SMS from a friend or from www.xobile.com and other designated websites." Mr. Kaplan noted that more than half the cellphones being sold today globally are enabled for this technology, and the number is increasing rapidly.

Vivid and Xobile will introduce the Leapscan technology at the Internext Summer 2005 expo August 5-7 at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, FL.
