Some Comments from Robert! (BusyBump)

I will not rehash all the subjects Trillium covered in his earlier excellent post, only to say that, as usual, his post was accurate.

A few interesting comments:

...The MP2000 is ready for immediate production. Production samples have been out since last fall, in the hands of OEMs. CONTENT STILL remains the key. The OEMs have heard the promises of the past from the record labels (even including specific dates!) that didn't materialize! They believe that this time is for real BUT...although the announcements have been made, the actual content is not yet available! The OEMs also believe that Edig's internet music platform is "ready for prime time". Currently, it is planned to be primarily flash-based but an IBM Microdrive-enabled version is being discussed.

...Concerning the 4 new platforms, announcements concerning these products, as well as prototypes and OEM relationships will be forthcoming this quarter.

...Asked how we became associated with F&H, he said that there were these considerations: a firm with a proven track record, with national & international presence, that could effectively bring Edig to the public eye, and that had an office in the S.D. area, enabling a close working environment.

...concerning Creative's price reduction (this is similar to Trillium's post)...RP couldn't say what their motivation was (inventory reduction, feeling the pressure, etc.), but acknowledged that our OEMs were very aware of Creative's moves, that each would bring out their own version of our JB with competitve pricing based upon features. He said that it was generally accepted that $199-299 will be the target price point for these products to "get the ball rolling!"

...asked about who exactly would be manufacturing our Samsung music player, he said that Samsung may do the manufacturing themselves or could possibly use one of their other manufacturers or even, one of Edig's manufacturers. He said that announcements concerning more manufacturing relationships (Edig's) would be forthcoming.

That's about it. Nothing earth-shaking, just some clarification and a little insight.
