I like that take on the matter. I have heard, though, that MMs who are shorting will just sell shares back and forth to each other in order to bring the price down. I'd like to think this is all retail, and the shares went from someone who didn't want them to someone who does. I happen to have a very jaded view of MMs, however, so I'm not convinced that those shares went to an interested buyer like you or I.
