Cant speak for everyone but shopping for pillows and comforters I believe most people would like to try, feel, touch, look at the product and know they can walk out of the store with it instead of shipping it and wondering what you are getting.

Amazon is good but not good enough to close all the box stores, there may be some consolidation however since the internet was only an infant when the box store concept was designed.
