"Most hospitals and imaging centers have no cost for cancellations received 24 hours prior to the appointment. If you cancel the procedure within 24 hours you can expect a charge ranging from $100 to $750. These cost/charges are associated with the missed appointment as well as the tracer solution which is used in the PET scan procedure."
With POSC's integrated system, the cancellation fees w/in 24 hrs of a procedure would be eliminated, except for the missed appointment charge. It looks like that cost could be appx $650?? (assume $100 appt charge deducted from the $750 total charge?). If that's true, and you eventually get 100% of the market 100K heart procedures/yr (looong range!), that's $65M in revenues/yr. And that's before the hefty growth predicted in cardiac pet scans, plus all the other radio pharm produced, as well as any other applications POSC moves into.
I obviously understand this is all pie in the sky presently, just trying to get a feel for the long-term profitability of this part of the business.
