Prior to Illume, he served as a Senior Vice President of the Americas Channel Sales Organization at (PTC) Parametric Technology Corporation. He served as a Vice President of Worldwide Inside Sales at Parametric Technology Corporation and was responsible for building the Asia Pacific channel during his 11 year PTC career.

Daniel Maier

Daniel Maier is the Vice President for Worldwide Inside Sales and North America Mathcad Sales for PTC, Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: PMTC). PTC is one of the world's largest independent software companies focused purely on product development and product lifecycle management with over 40,000 customers worldwide. In his current role at PTC, Dan manages sales organizations in various regions of the world, including North America, Europe, China, Taiwan, Japan and India. Dan’s experience at PTC spans the last 8+ years, recently as the Vice President for Asia Pacific Channel Sales, where he lived in Shanghai, China from 2005-2007. He was primarily responsible for building and structuring the channel sales and channel partner program, PTC Channel Advantage, throughout Asia Pacific. Before joining PTC, Dan was a Captain in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a Field Artillery Officer in the 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment. Dan is a graduate of Loyola College in Maryland, where he served as Student Body President and was the recipient of the Rev. McGuire Alumni Association Award.

Is it fair to assume this is a step toward sales outside USA? Certainly couldn't hurt, right?
