I guess you had to live it, back then it was in books, magazines, on TV, others opinions face to face, and a little bit of the internet that was mostly edited for content. people today are on information overload from every agenda under the sun. you can be almost anything online accept yourself it seems these days. back then you learned by experience today you read about it and get it but the intuition just aint there. it was kind of a rhetorical statement that included the memories.
