Stan Lee To Appear in Cameo on Universal’s Revamped Spider-Man Ride

When Universal Orlando Resort announced the re-vamp of their Spider-Man ride last spring, we heard about the technology advances that would result in whole new animation for the ride. Today, Universal has released some images to provide a peek at what’s in store. And there will be a new, yet familiar, face in the ride, too: comic book legend and Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee will make a cameo.

Universal execs say they will not announce where or how Lee will appear in The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man when the new version opens at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in March. Instead, they want fans to go on a hunt for Lee themselves.

Theme park officials say when the new Spider-Man ride opens, it will have 4K digital high-def animation, as well as upgrades to the set, audio and lighting systems. At a news conference this morning, Universal officials also hinted at what may be some timing adjustments for the ride, saying “Guests will spend more time in each scene with their favorite characters.”
