Considering the recent announcement that MOT and Cisco will be developing their own seamless switching solution, I think it is especially interesting that Servinova, a Cisco Systems Registered partner, is proceding with another company's(CLYW) seamless switching solution, and are not waiting for the MOT/Cisco solution which is predicted to be available to the market in early 2006, only 6-9 months away.
Servinova's decision to select Calypso's seamless solution now, and not to wait for the MOT/Cisco solution may have been determined by a number of factors. One factor may have been cost. This is a consideration that I am not sure has been discussed a lot on this board. Of course, I do not know any cost information, but I think there is a good chance that Calypso Wireless can deliver a more economical solution to enterprise customers rather than MOT/Cisco, for a variety of reasons, but I would like to hear other's opinions.
