we were talking about investing with $1000. however, im sure a lot of investors here have put in a lot more, and I can guess that 1/2 of us have greater than $10K invested. with $10K invested, our profits in those 2 scenarios are about $10000 and $20000 respectively. To most ppl, that chunk of extra cash is worth working hard for.

if i had a teenage son/daughter, that $20K can get him/her a used car, or even a new economical one. even with $1000, imagine how happy a family member or even a charity will be to get that as a gift from you.

in short, a few cents can go a long way if you believe your effort will pay off.
