The Centrino platform has features that allow it to make a wireless connection with a lot less effort than is currently the case. A current ZD net article talked about the many difficulties getting a wireless connect to work properly. A major feature of Centrino is to allow use of encryption, LEAP encryption and connection using VPN so you can access a corporate connection with no hassle.

It is not an easy task to get a wirelss connection working and it is certainly not something that the typical user can handle with ease. Wireless will not thrive until a non-technical business or home user can enable a connection at a Hotspot.
