This is only of value if you are a premium member. If you are a freebie it is irrelevant. I believe IHub still has the deal going where for a couple hours on Friday afternoon, they let everyone have premium features. So, when that happens, you can see the value of membermarking.

Essentially, there are MANY benefits to being a premium member. But, in the case of membermarking, each person that is membermarked shows as bold in all lists. Also, you have a Favorites Tab which lets you keep track of links, boards and members. Anyone membermarked would be on this list and easy to search.
