"Jeanne and Johnny Mac Brown, residents of Wellman, Texas, and founders of the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, spoke to students at Madeira High School Tuesday to show them the impact that texting and driving can have on many lives, not just one."

"The Browns asked students to sign a pledge stating they will not text and drive, and suggested possible apps for smart phones to prevent texting and driving.

PhoneGuard is an app that when the phone detects movement over 10 miles per hour, the phone receives messages but automatically sends one back stating the driver is unable to answer at the time."
