IntelliCell Explanation

In 2002, US Scientists at the University of Pittsburg discovered that the white fat in our bodies contained all the lineages of adult stem cells that exist. Prior to this discovery, the only source of adult stem cells came from the bone marrow. This way of getting stem cells from bone marrow involved a harpoon-like needle that was stuck into your hip bone. Normally you would get a small number of stem cells and the scientists had to grow them, forcing them to multiply. The multiplication of any cell could lead to mutations. As a result, the FDA required a considerable number of clinical trials to prove that the multiplied cells were safe. If you re-injected the stem cells back into the body without doing anything to the cells, the FDA allowed this without any trials. However, this is a very small market because many more cells are needed. The fat is an easy place to access since liposuction occurs at least 500,000 times a year in the United States. The problem is, in order to break down the fat, chemical enzymes were used. Again this disturbed the FDA since, how does the FDA know that the enzyme doesn’t alter the cell.

There is a company called Cytori which invented a machine that provided the enzyme. You would put in 6 ounces of fat that came from the liposuction and 2 ½ hours later out would come 50 million cells. These cells come from inside the blood vessel walls of the blood vessels in fat. They are not from fat like everyone believes. They are called Stromal Vascular Fraction Cells. This soup of cells contains about 80% multi potent stem cells. But, more importantly it also contains numerous cytokines interleukins and growth factors. In the last several years, the presence of these non-stem cells are considered to be as important, if not more important, than the stem cells themselves. However, this process of using enzymes, which is allowed in Europe and Japan, is not allowed in the US without clinical trials. If you google, fat cell therapy, you will see that worldwide doctors, as well as doctors in the US, have been reporting excellent results from the enzymatic made soup. It has been shown to alleviate the symptoms of arthritis. It has been shown to be 1,000 times more potent as an anti-inflammatory than cortisone, without the side effects. In March of 2009, congress passed a Health Care Law that is governed under the 361 rule. This law stated that if you take something from your body and do minimal manipulation, you can re-inject back into the body for the same use. The rules are very explicit. Two years ago, Dr. Victor, in discussions with the head of the FDA in this area, became aware that the FDA did not like the use of enzymes. If Doctors were going to rely on the minimal manipulation rule to allow them to use the soup for different uses then they could not use enzymes. Dr. Victor then went to look for a physical method of breaking down the fat cells. He finally perfected the use of ultrasonic cavitation that successfully broke apart the fat globule and exploded the blood vessels in the fat, without damaging the soup cells. This method of producing the soup required only sound and water. It took only 5 minutes. It increased the yield by allowing us to use only 2 ounces of fat to get ½ billion to 1 billion soup cells. As a result, there is a dramatic drop in the cost of production and the time to treat. The patient now, instead of receiving liposuction, receives fat harvesting. Two ounces is significantly easy, and much less painful, then 6 ounces. From start to finish, the patient is treated in less than 45 minutes in a doctor’s office. These cells come from the blood vessel and the Doctors re-inject them for the same use as their original intent, anti-inflammatory tissue re-growth. Because the 2 ounces yield a ½ billion cells, the non enzymatic soup does not need to be grown or manipulated and can be used immediately.
The major Orthopedic Sports Doctors have known that the stem cells from fat, which is really soup cells from the blood vessels of the fat, would become the greatest sports medicine in the world. They have been using PRP (plate rich plasma) very aggressively since 2009. That industry has grown from 50 million dollars in 2009 when Hines Ward of the Pittsburg Steelers was treated in between the final playoff game and the Super Bowl, and was able to play when the world didn’t think he could. That publicity grew the $50 million in PRP to ½ billion dollar business in 3 years. The doctors were reluctant to use enzymatic based soup because they did not feel it fit under the FDA rules. So players went oversees and to the Caribbean and Latin America to be treated because of the success of the use of these multi potent cells; notably, Bartolo Colon and several other players. Because of IntelliCell’s invention, people can now receive this medicine in the United States. That is why Dr. Andrews and his team as well as Dr. Nicola have signed on to become Centers of Excellence and to use this new technology to treat athletes. We are having numerous discussions with other major team doctors and anticipate a rapid adoption of this technology. This technology has all the benefits of PRP but also delivers large amounts of multi potent stem cells to allow tissue re-growth and bone re-growth. This has been proven by our peer reviewed periodontal study which used the non enzymatic based manufacturing method to produce the soup of cells which prevented gum recession. We anticipate that there will be several high profile athletes coming forward who have been treated successfully in this country with the non enzymatic based Intellicell process.
