Actually, the networks (WiMax and TD-LTE) will run side by side for a while. I think the roll out is really aggressive. But I've looked at Clearwire's job postings, and it looks like they have a few positions posted for the migration. Although they say 2012, I think its more-so going to be around 2013. Hopefully that's not too late.

"Sprint Nextel briefed investors Friday concerning the carrier's aggressive plans to begin operating a new high-speed wireless LTE network in selected markets across the United States beginning in mid-2012. "

Interesting quote:
"Even with their reallocation of existing spectrum, it's obvious that their spectrum resources are insufficient to meet the long-term demands of mobile data," Clearwire said in a statement Friday. "But this is not unique to Sprint."

We will see how this works out for Sprint first in 4 cities: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Atlanta.
