As a general rule, a junior must have over 2M ounces proven and probable to be a viable mine, IMO. Really takes over 4M ounces to be really interesting for a major such as NEM, ABX, Anglo. Anything less than 2M and the capex cannot be justified, unless there is existing mine infrastructure/milling plant right next to the property (e.g. Great Basin with Ivanhoe, this was sufficient to get HL's interest).

This is my understanding, I would appreciate other opinions in this regard.
