i have no clue what you are talking about...and no, i have NEVER been charged 10 bucks for 20 shares of a penny stock...you enter your bid and they may fill the order from several different places in 5k, 10k or whatever increments...but you only get charged once...

on the other hand, what is common for me is to buy at the ask....if i think a stock is going to move soon, i dont screw around trying to get it at .08 instead of .081...why on earth would i or anyone?...

i also frequently get the stock at a price that is actually lower than i bid...
