If the volume is total shares that traded hands (can't have a buyer without a seller and vice versa)
If volume was heavy on the bid price (or heavy selling) the price of the underlying security would go down.
If volume is heavy on the ask price (or heavy buying) the price of the underlying security would go up.
The price of SSOL went up today. That would indicate heavy buying on the ask price, no? Which would be the opposite of your comment bender1250.
