Email from Connie at Investor relations for American Manganese. Here is her response to my question concerning February's release of Prefeasabilty study.Great email for new people interested in AMY
Dear Blair,

Thank you very much for your email.

American Manganese reported on the anticipated release of the Pre-Feasibility Study on Dec 21st of last year, to note:
“Mr. Reaugh says; “Kemetco’s and CPM’s contributions are vital technical components of the previously announced on-going preliminary feasibility study. The preliminary feasibility report commission by the Company is now scheduled for delivery around mid-February (2012) of next year.”http://www.americanmanganeseinc.com/pilot-plant-update-and-year-end-status-report/
There is no update, we can only disseminate the Study once it is compiled and released by Wardrop. A Pre-Feasibility Study is a concise in depth report of all the work, progress, new 43-101 information, Pilot Plant testing and other factors of which are too numerous to articulate here. American Manganese is not expecting any surprises and we are confident that there are no issues which will keep us moving forward to commission the Bankable Feasibility Study shortly thereafter.
We will however start the testing of the Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide mid month, which I believe to be very exciting. The EMD and Lithium Manganese Dioxide are both potentially value added products which could be very positive for both AMY and the Rechargable Battery Market’s:
LITHIUM MANGANESE DIOXIDE (LMD) BATTERY (Li Mn2 O4) LMD used in batteries contain 4% Lithium, 61% manganese and 35% oxy-gen by atomic weight.
LMD batteries are currently being used in the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf.
LMD has low cost of production.
LMD has high power output, thermal stability and enhanced safety when compared to other lithium ion battery types.
Work at the University of Illinois has achieved an advanced prototype battery, using Lithiated Manganese that can be recharged in as little as 2 minutes (equivalent to filling a gas tank).
In conjunction with the Company’s current Pilot Plant testing to pro-duce EMM Kemetco has been engaged to produce EMD and LMD oxide powder for testing for the battery industry. This will be the first production of EMD utilizing domestic ore in the past few decades.
EMM is produced on the cathode of the electrowinning circuit, EMD is produced on the Anode.

RECHARGABLE BATTERIES

The Company is capable of producing Electrolytic Manganese Metal (EMM) on the cathode or Electrolytic Manga-nese Dioxide (EMD) on the anode. Currently the company is investigating the production of EMD to make a Lithi-ated manganese dioxide (LMD) for the battery industries.

USA is largest consumer of EMD Worldwide at 41%. Produces 23% from imported Mn ores.
Battery consumption of EMD predicted to be fastest growing segment of manganese production.
Chairman William Clay Ford, Jr. of Ford Motor company predicts 25% of all their new cars will be elec-tric by 2020.
Management is fully invested in the Company currently. It is not unusual for them to participate in Private Placements when necessary to raise funds for The Artillery Peak project. This provides them the benefit to invest money directly into the Company coffers in order to add value in situ for AMY whilst expanding the Company’s Manganese deposit in Arizona.
I hope this helps address your concerns, Blair. Please contact me any time, my phone number is also noted on my contact information. Best, Connie
