This was a pretty cool dream last night. Very epic in length.

I was walking with a group of 5-6 American indians through scrubby grassland. They were modern enough to have firearms.

We came across a small group of buffalo that stampeded because we were both surprised. The dust got so thick that the indians were firing point blank at shadows and did not kill anything.

When the dust settled we found the chief was dead and his heart had been removed. We started carrying the body and met another buffalo that could speak.

The buffalo told us he had taken the chief's heart in order to gain the power of speaking.

He told the indians that they had forgotten their history and he was there to refresh their memory.

The buffalo told a long history about the "first people" who came out of the earth. He also spoke about a race of "ant people" that still lived underground and "lizard people" that live in the sky.

At the end the buffalo told the indians to kill him and place his heart in the chief's chest and the chief would live again.

Sadly I woke up at that point but lay there for a long time trying to keep as many details as possible.
