Yes it is. On numerous occassions I have tried to raise the bid, cut the spread to 5cents, so I bid 5000 shares. The SOB's would fill me with 500 shares, knock me off the bid, and the spread would go back to 10 cents. I then would bid 10,000 shares, and again, they would only buy enough to knock me off the bid.
Try it today, raise the bid .43, for 7000 shares, you will get 2500 shares and poof, bid goes back to .34
