A trademark is much different from a patent application...the application is what makes the technology/invention/design unique and, therefore, valuable. I was talking about patent applications, not trademarks.

Trademarks have nothing to do with the invention, the technology behind the invention, or the technology that goes into producing the invention...it is merely an identifying mark.
