The big boys already have marketing departments, Quality Control experts, production facilities, and CONTACTS which the small companies wouldn't/couldn't have for years.

Buyouts usually happen when they are beneficial for both parties.

While the CSC agreement is constantly denigrated, one thing it does is prevents KBLB from being 'starved out' or going without operating capital as they are close (1 year, 2 years or much less?) to begin to see profits. Deep-pocketed companies can often just wait for small companies to go 'belly-up' and then hire their researchers or purchase their technology at a discount.
