The former UFC heavyweight champion will earn a flat rate of $400,000 for tonight’s heavyweight main event against Alistair Overeem, according to figures released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Friday.
Meanwhile, Overeem will pocket $264,285.71 for entering the Octagon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and stands to make an additional $121,428.57 if he walks away with a victory.
Co-main event competitor Donald Cerrone will be awarded $30,000 for showing up against Nate Diaz, who will earn $37,000 for scrapping with the “Cowboy.” Each man has the opportunity to double his fight purse if he leaves the cage a winner.
The figures reported by Sherdog.com do not reflect any potential post-fight bonuses, sponsor payouts or pay-per-view revenue that some fighters may earn. Likewise, no deductions in fighter salaries are accounted for, such as money withheld for taxes or licenses.
