I gave up being a Republican a very long time ago. I learned the very hard way that America is about being tolerant of so many other people who have come to this country seeking freedom. That freedom is defined in so many ways, like the first freedoms that were begun by the original founding fathers, but have in the centuries that have followed have evolved into just so many things.
Each new found freedom is America's calling to help mankind continually refine his search for all of mankind to find a way to live together.
I must also say that I am not a democrat either, I use to be at various time in my life, but like most polticians that represent either party, they all let you down at one time or another.
At this age I just want to stay alive long enough to see how some more of the story turns out.
As for Paul, no way, at times he has some interesting points, but most of the time he really scares me. I want a younger, intelligent poltician occupying the White House. Thats the problem with Republicans, they don't have anybody, thats why the keep jumping from one to another. Besides the Republican party has really hurt itself of late when it comes to Presidental politics, they will probably do ok in State election, but nationally they just don't have anyone.
