So AMD will be announcing 140+ ish (est.) ultrabook design wins?


Not directly, since Intel copyrighted that name.

Instead, expect AMD to skirt around that issue with designs called Ultra-thin note-Books with any naming scheme possible to associate themselves with Intel's initiative.

You may see a sku of Trinity optimized for 17W, called the A8-Ultra. Instead of Intel Smart Response technology, you might see AMD Fast Response Technology.

But while Intel enforces the use of SSD's to actually ensure a faster response, AMD will allow the vendors to use whatever cheap components give them the cheapest bill of materials, and affix the sticker claiming fast-whateveritis, regardless.

AMD may not even use Trinity. They may use Zacate and a hard drive and call it AMD Ultra-thin Notebook with Fast Response Technology and All-Day Battery Life, even though it's slow as mollases and hardly as thin as what Intel has.
