Len, I'd have to say the strangest I've witnessed was the U-turn last year on Jeanne... It looked like it was headed to Florida as a weak Hurricane or Tropical Storm, than it decided to take a detour and as a result strengthened, not only that but it went back to its original track and wound up striking Florida anyways as a significant storm...
