Here is my take on this
We have the smart money buying the futures of the vix as protection for their position in the market. They think the market is going higher but are not sure and want to sleep at night so they are buying the future vix. As in my previous post the Italians got a bill coming due in the 1st Quarter and the smart money and the Euro are betting on it they will default on it. I don't know how far you can kick the can down the road.
