Twas the night before Christmas and all through the desert
Not a creature was stirring not even a peasant.
The stockings were hung by the rig with care.

The rebels were nestled all snug in their beds.
While visions of oil money danced in their heads.
And Mama in her burqua and bo in his cap
Had just awakened from their 5 year nap.

When out in the sand there rose such a clatter
I rose from my cot to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the tent and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen oil
Gave the lustre of midday to the objects below
