yeah, i don't think we can ever give a fair comparison when comparing athletes of different eras... the competition is far greater today, due largely to the amount of money being pumped in... i have an uncle who was offered a MLB contract, but at that time turned it down because it wasn't worth uprooting his family... talking somewhere late 50's to early 60's

But if Tiger surpasses Jack's 18 majors, the hat tip will have to go to Tiger, because it has to be far tougher to do it today than when Jack did... not to mention Tiger's 3 junior US Am's and 3 US Am titles
