The speech you refer to is either an old one from last month or a repeat of the same speech. I do not read a direct reference advocating a return to a gold standard in it either, but AG has written papers in the past praising a gold standard (or a partial one) as a good thing. Those papers were before he became Fed chairman, but they indicate that he at least does not reject the idea outright.
