I am a long here. While doing some DD I found some information at Sierra Nevada's website where they are saying that they will be providing training on the Super Tucano.

Seems like we may be competing against them on the training (if somebody knows something please let me know). I contacted them to see how much information I could get from them and see the reply I received from them below.

Dear Mr. Diaz,

Thanks you for your interest in SNC and the Light Air Support program. You are correct in that training is part of that effort.

SNC is familiar with Tactical Air Defense Services (TacAir), and wishes TacAir well in its business endeavors. However, Tactical Air Defense Services is not part of the SNC Team for this competition. The SNC team has proposed an exceptional training program in the LAS aircraft and mission set as part of our offering. Given the tremendous record the A-29 has amassed as a trainer and operational aircraft, we are likewise confident that it will excel in all assigned and anticipated missions.

As the LAS award is still subject to source selection, SNC cannot provide you with any further information.

Thank you again and we wish you the very best.

Super Tucano A-29 Training

Hi,

I just visited your website (“builtforthemission.com”) and you are saying in there that training for the Super Tucano which looks like was selected by the Air force for the LAS contract will be provided by Sierra Nevada.

My understanding is that Tactical Air Defense Services has the only FAA Super Tucano flying out in the US and there is some rumor that they will be the ones providing the training. Is the training that you provide similar to what Tactical Air Defense Service provides? Are you planning on sub contract Tactical Air Defense if a contract is in fact awarded for the Super T and the training associated to the aircraft? Or are the services that you provide totally different than the ones provided by Tactical Air Defense?

I am just trying to figure this out as it seems like the Air force and maybe the Navy will be investing on this plane in the near future. Thank you for your time and any information that you may be able to share.

Thanks,
Wilberto Diaz
