I wish Kim would be more clear in his PRs.

I am sure we will get clarity on the CC but the PR today is only giving us hints. That is why it is not making the PPS move.

Kim says that the new ZFN are for custom Gen 2 fibers.

I agree with Red that custom=customer but in the PR custom is not really clear to me. Gen 2 was pure spider silk. I would think we would need pure spider silk to make a "custom" gen 2. But Kim's description of the generations is not really clear.

Gen 1 is monster silk. I think everyone would agree.

Gen 2 is pure spider silk and custom textiles.

Gen 3 is medical silks.

So we are making " advanced fibers and textiles based on spider silk genetic sequences"

This suggests that the new textile will be more then pure spider silk.

But we have not made pure spider silk as far as we know.

But here is where Kim's PRs are not clear enough IMO.

I think we have pure spider silk but we don't realize that we have been told.

Here is my reasoning...

Spiders spin many types of spider silk. To say we made "Pure spider silk" would be too vague.

Saying we made "pure spider drag line silk" would make a statement that is not vague at all.

Spiders do spin many types of silk...How many?

I am speculating that not only did Kim succeed in making pure spider silk he has made all 7 types of spider silk.
