Well does that mean you are in at a price higher then a dollar since you want it to go higher? Duh he is shorting it (Put options) as am I, why would I open a long position if I expected it to be worthless? When everyone is calling it worthless? the liabilities exceed assets. Period. They've tried since 2006 to renegotiate with the union and in 6 years the union hasnt backed down, this was their only choice to shed bad contracts ( gas guzzler planes, union wages, etc etc.). They will issue new shares, OR possibly merge with another airline, but the end game is the same, the shares are worthless.
